My Roundup

It was an absolute pleasure to co-host UST’s inaugural Retail Futures Workshop in April!

The event brought together students from London Metropolitan University, Istituto Marangoni and Glasgow Caledonian University in a brainstorming workshop on how to take in-store shopping to the next stage in its evolution. Students then presented their developed ideas to the panel in a ‘Dragons Den’ style pitch, in a bid to win one of two paid internship opportunities at Differently Enabled and UST respectively.

It was a pleasure to hear every pitch. Today’s students are tomorrow’s consumers. Their insights and expectations of retail are unique because they are digital-first, unlike established retailers who often see digital as an add-on.

Their vision is not limited by how traditional retail has operated, but instead, it is open to the unlimited possibilities digital offers. They don’t ask why, instead they as why not?
